Senior construction director (M/F)

We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Director / Production Manager with specialized expertise in NATM, Drill & Blasting or shaft excavation underground tunneling projects to lead the construction efforts for the prestigious Sharaan project in Saudi Arabia.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of tunnel engineering, project management, and a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale construction projects. Due to its location and remoteness, the candidate should have a firm ability to federate people and lead human large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

– Project Leadership: Oversee the entire lifecycle of the underground tunnel project, from initial planning through execution, to completion.
– Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation including manpower, materials, and equipment, to meet project milestones and deadlines. .
– Team Management: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and construction workers.
– Quality Control: Ensure all construction activities comply with industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.
– Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders, including contractors, and community representatives to ensure project alignment and success.
– Coordination: Collaborate with engineering, design, and procurement teams to ensure seamless project integration and resolve any issues that may arise.
– Cost management: Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-control measures to stay within budget.
– Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively.
– Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project status, including financial performance, to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

– Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
– Experience: Minimum of 15+ years of experience in construction management with significant experience in underground D&B or NATM tunnel projects.
– Technical Skills: Expertise in tunnel engineering, construction methodologies, and project management software.
– Leadership: Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage large teams and complex projects.
– Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
